Well, it seems to me that the forum rules are very clear.

Any comment, remark, observation or whatever combination of words put together for that matter that could be read as something negative regarding – but not limited to – CGI, RSI, SC, SQ42 and/or anything/anyone related to that, is not allowed.

Basically it has to fit: PRAISE TO THE GREAT LEADER Chris Roberts, his VISION and all that surrounds him.

If your wording doesn’t fit within those parameters, well, then you’re screwed. But the good news is, if you master it, you are sure to survive a visit in North Korea 🙂

So, just out of curiosity, is anyone here backing the remake of System Shock ( https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1598858095/system-shock ), or going to? For now, it doesn’t resemble anything by CIG/RSI, but who knows 🙂

Maybe this time we can follow the drama right from the start 😉

Or, see a project develop like it should. The info they put on Kickstarter already gives me more confidance than CIG

A lot of money will have been used for all the offices and (computer) equipment and of course, there is overhead like Finance, Payroll, HRM, IT, Secretaries and Assistents et cetera. Not to mention the big wages for the executive producers and managers, and last but not least, Marketing & Sales 🙂

I’d really, really, reallyreally (really? yes reallyreally) would like to see a financial and a staff breakdown. And then see how much actually has been spend on developing the game. Probably 10% of the total “budget” with maybe 40 actual developers or so. Maybe when CIG/RSI finally collapses we get a look…

Can’t help but wondering, what have all those (300?) developers been doing then these last couple of years?

We’ll maybe never know how much money has been spend on non-game stuff, but money has been spend on developers etc. for several years now.

This project is FUBAR in it’s current state, but it has shown that a certain (space sim) gametype can attract a large audience. So maybe it might attract a (big) company to pick up the concept(s) and the work done from the remaining ashes and give it there own spin? I have absolutely no clue about game development, but isn’t there anything build by now that couldn’t be used again? Just wondering…

Maybe too much off topic, but I just got an update release e-mail for another Kickstarter space sim game. Just a guy with his son. Small as it all may seem, they’re lightyears ahead when compared to CGI. For one thing, it all actually works 🙂

Maybe the Shitizens can back http://highfrontier.com/ as well. At least that money will buy them an actual funded and build game, but more importantly, it will give them something to do while they wait for SC Alpha build 2.5, 2.6, 2.7 et cetera. Not to mention a forum that could use some life 😉

It just keeps on getting better, somebody is actually claiming to be bored with the game and advised to assist in bug hunting.

And I read somewhere someone asking if a Brexit would actually have an impact too. Wouldn’t surprise me if RSI goes down and then blames it on the Brexit.

This ongoing saga is getting priceless. Lots of fun at the Frontier forum as well.

In the comments of this video, Major Tom said this:

“By removing CIG from the ToS entirely they remove liability from CIG (Cloud Imperium Games) and shift it to RSI (Robert Space Industries). Since Robert Space Industries is a subsidy of CIG, when (or if) the project crashes, the parent company can technically claim no liability (see https://www.invigorlaw.com/when-can…-parent-entity/ )”
