      I think we need to ask the big gaming magazines why Chris Roberts gets a pass on all the nonsense he says.  I am passing out these email addresses below at my school and asking people to email these magazines and asking them how they can claim to be honest news outlets while letting Chris Roberts get away with so many flip-flops and back stepping.  If anyone knows of any others, let me know.

        I dont understand how the gaming media is ignoring all the inconsistencies of Chris Roberts.  This guy has been changing his story/excuses whenever it suits him.  In 2013 he says that stretch goals will not delay the release when he says “… we don’t commit to adding features that would hold up the game’s ability to go “live” in a fully functional state,”

        2013

        But now he says “as more money came in, the scope of the project expanded in turn. As a result, the game’s release got pushed out further into the future.

        2016

        How does he get away with that?  How does he get away with promoting Star Marine for the entire year of 2015 and then saying it was only a test environment and we have it in the current PU?  I simply can not understand how the gaming media has not covered this constant flip flopping of excuses.  He is supposed to be a seasoned game developer and yet has missed every deadline he himself set.  If this were anyone else, PCGamer and other magazines would be all over it.  Why does Chris Roberts get a pass from the gaming media?  Are they honestly scared due to his threat of legal action against the Escapist?  Did they not see that the Escapist called his bluff and he is just full of hot air?

        I just dont understand why this is all being ignored.

          @Kristoffer S

          Apparently you dont remember that Chris indeed did say “about 2 weeks” at Citcon. Here is a link to the video that is posted above in this very thread:

          2 Weeks

          If you go to about 4:09 into the video and play it from there, you will see he does indeed say “this will drop in about 2 weeks”.

            I’m still confused as to why so many sites would list 2011 as the actual founding of Cloud Imperium.

            Wiki Page

            Gamapedia Link

            GiantBomb Link

            SteamGroup Link

            It could be they got their information from the same source and the 2011 was just copied over and over all over the net but even when you google the words “Cloud Imperium founded” you get 2011 as the top two boxes straight from google and the big one is not a link. Try it and see for yourself.

              Derek,

              Can you shed any light as to why there are conflicting sources to the year Cloud Imperium was founded? I see on their website they list 2012 but interviews and other sources say 2011. I believe they are hiding the actual date to mask that they have been developing the game for longer than they admit.
