Do a chargeback! There is nothing illegal about it since a) they have increased the scope of the project b) failed to deliver by the promised date
Is there a point / length of time that people will no longer be able to make chargebacks etc and then only have recourse to legal action to reclaim their pledges ?

Presumably there is a time limit on legal action too.

In the UK – if memory serves – there is something like a six year limitation but there are matters relating to when you tell them you have beef with them etc..  Debts certainly become time barred if you dont recognise them/accept them.

If time limits like this exist in law, presumably CIG would be looking to keep backers at bay/in the dark until they pass those time limits.

IME a lot of people really have no idea how the law actually works as opposed to how they imagine it works – this ignorance leaves them to make poor decisions about how they protect themselves and timescales involved, tactics opponents take, all the bluster and bullshit that gets thrown up in your face or for bystanders to absorb.

The reply from Ortwin was a good example of some of this stuff …legal bluster and bullshit that most people are impressed with but has a different effect than people imagine.

I remember following the MMO Glider trial where Blizzard sued someone in the USA that had  developed a WOW bot.

        It took a few years.

The Shitizens seem to think that whatever CR imagines and vocalises is simply a matter of spending a few $$ and a couple of months to make a reality.

Even the people claiming to have knowledge of the technology involved here dont want to analyse what is being offered up critically.

We need experienced developers coming out analysing the claims – CIG are not recruiting the only people in the world that might have a clue and are probably recruiting a lot that dont have one instead.

This is great but we need a version where at least Chris and Sandy are wearing very expensive clothing, jewelery etc .. or perhaps even riding a racing horse and doing video shoots whilst Lesnick fawns over them and eats pie….

We need to add Shitizens,  up to their neck in (CRs)  bullshit,  throwing more money at them . .and a cliff or lawsuit etc that the staff are pulling the Connie towards…

They say ” quite a lot of the promised game play is now available”

              Definition of Quite

used to emphasize the degree or amount of something, or to say that someone or something is impressive, interesting, or unusual

They have been working on this for quite some time. That’s quite a beard you’ve grown, young man!”

              Definition of (a) Lot
A word that refers to a person, place, idea, event or thing.”LARGE AMOUNT

So they are saying that what we currently have constitutes an impressive large amount of what they have sold to those that have pledged……

                it is worse than that.

I personally love “griefing” in MMOS but CR is encouraging people to think they should “grief” other players by being bounty hunters etc…There is going to be so much whining from all these fantasy amateur “Bountyhunters” etc if they performed a miracle and delivered the game remotely as promised.

The large % of MMO players simply cannot handle being “griefed” = anything immediately stopping them from playing in their special bubble which they imagine is protected by the games publisher.  They respond by walking away or bombarding CS and forums with their crying and whining.

To be fair the caveat on design has been there all along (AFAIK) but you are absolutely right that that won’t matter a bean to most players (or the law – if it comes to that re fraud etc)

The whole offering is absolutely littered with these sorts of problems that are just waiting to bite CIG on the bum.    They are so incompetent they just keep creating new sticks to be beaten with almost every time they open their gobs to explain some new features or sell another ship….

I love “gaming” sections of an an MMO community (in game) and it has been very apparent to me that the MMO part of SC was incredibly badly thought out.   It has been a wishing away of the experience of human behaviour in MMOs over 15 plus years vs CRs “vision” and the imaginations of these care bear MMO players that ruined most MMOs with thier PVE whinings.

Anyway wasn’t the AI supposed to deal with players that attacked others in safe space ?
