I hope you’re sitting down for this one. Seriously, you have to read this in it’s entirety.
It’s a recently revealed exchange between a once avid Star Citizen backer and a customer service rep.
At some point, Sandi Gardiner, (that would be Chris’s wife, head of marketing and such) chimed in.
It’s 100% authentic (or I wouldn’t repost it. Lawsuits aren’t fun) and it’s yet another eye-opener into the train wreck of an on-going scam that this once promising project has now become.
Whatever you, be sure not to miss the “corporate espionage” part. Just in case, here is a direct link to that one. It’s patently hilarious.
And in case you missed it, they stopped giving out refunds, citing that the disastrous 2.0 build, represents a substantial release of the game. This despite the fact that last we checked, it doesn’t even represent 10% of what was promised back in 2012.
Here is a recent exchange by a backer trying to get a refund.
Back in Nov, one of the last remaining bona fide investors (not a regular backer) in the project, bailed.
This is what the current standard “fuck you, no refund” email looks like. Here is a version with context.
Seriously, this is how things are now.
Yes. Chris has absolutely, totally, lost it. I’m serious. And this is what happens when there is zero accountability for a project.
So….a $104M crowd-funded behemoth didn’t make any of the lists thus far. Weird.

Yeah 50 missions are promised. And backers get the Behind Enemy Lines mission disk free. No word on how many missions that one contains.
Of course in the past few weeks, Chris has already said that SQ42 is now three “episodes”. Which leads me to believe that they are going to probably somehow split those 50 missions and the mission disk.
That aside from the fact that backers are already entitled to it and so they have to figure out a way to make extra money from selling it to non-backers. Hence the reason that it had it’s own orders page since Oct.
Yeah, it’s bullshit. They will go back on that. Like they have every single thing related to money (e.g. LTI, rare ships etc).
Where did you read that they had a big name investor ready to bail them out? As far as I know, no such investor exists.
Anyone who doesn’t think they will sell ship packages other than starter kits, is a fool who hasn’t been paying attention. They have no other means of generating money since everything they have to date, is already paid for. Selling credits and SQ42 is only going to get them so far. Especially given the fact that the P2W nature of the game – as well as the complete lack of economy implemented – will severely impact that.
