The OP is just some regular backer. Not an original or even veteran. Though he is a subscriber… Just another idiot who doesn’t prioritize spending money wisely. I mean specifically, even within the spaceship buying frenzy, there is a path of logic and best bang for your buck. Subscriptions are a 100% waste of money. Except when Beer is involved. He posted some pretty good questions in the past that got picked and answered.

Honestly, I hope these irredeemable people lose everything they put in the game at this point. Way too many warning signs and blatant scam tactics have occurred.

“Quality Has a Cost – Time.” Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Those folks forgot “Time is Money.”

You know what? I’m gonna go play a tiny bit of Halo Reach (released Sept 2010). I will use the fantastic “hologram” armor ability to distract my enemies so I can put in a headshot. Chris Roberts sure thinks a hologram gadget in Star Marine is something amazing, like in this Jan 2016 Gamespot article.

Oh yeah did I forget to mention… Halo Reach has 4 player campaign coop. 2 players per console splitscreen. You can even customize your character’s appearance in pretty good 2010 color and armor details by earning credits offline (online has caveats with a 1 time authentication reset). You can even play as the enemy alien in multiplayer.

Chris Roberts is way out of touch with reality. Let alone gaming. I will give him credit for being an incredible salesman, and attracting hordes of idiots who need serious mental help.

It’s been a fun few days. It gets better. Apparently goons love trash posting around page 2000.

On Feb 12, goon leak says,

Some very important people all met and decided to …….
Pay some existing shareholders for an undisclosed sum.
Finalise on another small UK based studio to monetize tax credits and gov initiatives in the UK
Introduce new formats to tell people that they have to cut everything in the game pretty much.
Concentrate all efforts on episode 1 SQ42 . Now internally accepted as is , will be available q2 or 3 2017. This will involve 6-7 hours terrible cutscene and some minor scripted missions. Fly from a to b kill something , etc.
The Stimporer will now be based in the UK 2/3 rds of the year and liase more closely with Germany who are trying to rewrite everything patch by patch.

Pretty much on target if you ask me. Oh, and they don’t have 7 million dollars left or whatever del boy claimed. They have a Lot more …

On Feb 17, goon leak says,

There is no sustainable business model.
The plan was to flip the whole thing and sell the entire lot to a big name publisher allowing certain people , lets call them majestic twelve to retire as millionaires.
This didn’t happen , the more money came in the more that Chris genuinely believed he could do this.He told the big names to gently caress off
So now they have to find a way of monetizing, hence talk of console and splitting up content into separate packages etc.

Even if they shove out a half assed bug ridden mission pack with 100000 of cutscene in it at some point next year they need to shift GTA type units to make a profit because they have to then complete the rest of it stretching into 2020 and I’m not talking about Star citizen here which is simply undo able.

There will be jail time and there will. most probably be deaths connected to this

And on Feb 19, the goon leak has sad news…

        Hmmmmm
It seems I will have to stop posting for a while. There is a new trailer coming out soon watch out for Craig Fairbrass if they leave him in (He is genuinely a diamond in a sea of horrible 90’s FMV poo poo)

Stay safe commandos and see you in the verse.

I’m sure Derek knows the real story. There is also something else ridiculous, which I may post later if I can find more on it.

My thoughts are Chris Roberts… is a totally autistic, egotistic, complete failure and idiot. His original crowdfunding game with investors filling the rest to $23 million… the real truth. Once CIG hit $23 million, Chris went full steam on money making and burned all of his bridges, just like the arrogant idiot he is. He thought he could get away with it, as long as only he and his closest friends were in the money machine.

Well, as we have seen from the Time Warner Cable commercial, burning investor and publisher bridges was a genius move, courtesy of our beloved idiot. What other companies will he advertise to stay afloat?

Maybe in an alternate world, where Chris could actually handle criticism… he would have shipped a Star Citizen with his original investors, and legitimately made millions after selling out to a publisher. Sorry Chris, but nope. In this world, you are too damn stupid and arrogant to even help yourself properly.

Good luck CIG intern. Your employment status isn’t gonna last long.

Why just popcorn? Let’s include a history lesson and rant to make things even better.

July 30-31, 2015, was the big moment in warning signs. The coop article by PCInvasion was the first big warning sign that CIG would attempt to reduce features. I was outright shocked. This was not announced on the main website, at all. Reducing original features, just like that. Technically, I would call it feature dropping though. This is the event, combined with Derek’s refund that convinced me it has possibly gone scammy, and I needed to pay attention. They were around $87 million funds raised, after all.

Here is one of the big forum threads about coop. Just read the first and second page of comments, and keep in mind, this was in July. Way before the Escapist outbreak. Here is the reddit about it, and comments by Bribase really stick out to me. Some people were happy because they don’t care for coop. Folks really don’t care about getting less for their money. Anyone who was not a cultist began to start wondering if private servers were next to be reduced. Fast forward and well, Lando confirmed that private servers would be missing from launch, on Jan 10, 2016. Only took 4 months…

Technically, the first and most underrated warning sign was the mouse flight model since 2014. Any criticism of it, was put into a Katamari or Mega Thread, as a dumping yard. Feedback being outright ignored, and thrown out was proof that CIG’s developers didn’t care, and Chris Roberts sure didn’t either. Sadly, it wasn’t until Dec 16, 2015, that we would learn that Chris doesn’t even play his own damn game. Gotta give all of CIG credit for successfully tricking people right up until there.

It all made sense. Chris doesn’t play games. He only watches videos of games. What little effort he put into playing Star Citizen at the conventions or even initial pitch was just a marketing stunt. Newtonian space flight, joystick controls, coop campaign, private servers, none of it was ever really addressed. Even trackballs on a joystick… and we finally learned why.

Star Citizen is one of the most fascinating scams ever. Might just end up in a psychological or marketing study.

Here is a picture from a goon, for that deleted comment. I did see it originally, and was slightly surprised that it got deleted after being locked. Criticism must hurt.

              Minor info to share.

              Goon leak says,

This prick knows the square route of gently caress all. Like most of them that step in and talk oh so knowledgeably.
In 2017 people will get the first bit of SQ42 which will involve some very basic scripted missions and a poo poo load of eye wateringly bad custcene.
The console version will run parallel but come out much later. Pretty much everything that Chris has promised will never come out and now they are creating more and more online shows etc to drip feed this out.

Well, looks like we’ll soon see what the “totally detached” Chris Roberts will demonstrate.

Other info involves Moon Collider, the external developers handling the AI. Their introduction show is here. You can search their name in the Oct 2015 monthly report, Nov 2015 report… and even the Dec 2015 report… oh wait. They are not there. Let’s see Jan 2016 report… not there either. Looks like CIG threw out their AI partners to cut costs.

My current summary is… SC has more money available thanks to people bailing and leaving. Chris will use the free cash to make more shows to milk the cash whales, since the game engine and gameplay experience are totally broken and unfinished. There will likely be a serious lack of new footage and content to show.

No one gives the slightest concern to AI, when it is fundamental for a good single player campaign, let alone Vanduul Swarm or the Persistent Verse. Personally, I was really happy when I first saw what Moon Collider was working on, and it really made SC fun for solo and coop play. Now, they vanish without a trace from CIG. Sad.

It’s been said before, but it requires mentioning again. Every aspect of Star Citizen is screwed. There is nothing fun to salvage, except for the train wreck entertainment factor. Of which, they may start mentioning Moon Collider or Kythera after reading this post. Can’t allow the whales to abruptly realize something is missing, gotta guide them slowly with mental gymnastics.

The worse part? New people are still backing this ponzi scheme.

Play this song, and enjoy. I needed it to go through 40 pages.

Derek responding to a cultist, the same one from TNGS that attacked Beer, and considered Sandi a friend.

An idiot who just happens to be a fool.

Do you for ONE minute think that after the PR nightmares they have been dealing with since I landed on their front porch, then The Escapist dropped through the chimney, that if the Beer emails were fake, they won’t have jumped on it?

That aside from the fact that they’ve been sending (empty) legal threats left and right for even LESSER transgressions.

Derek commenting on the grey market,

No; because, I’m sorry to say, they’re sorta right in this regard. This is similar to buying Grey market accounts, ships etc. As long as you didn’t buy directly from CIG, all bets are off.

And if someone sells you an account, then does a chargeback, thus taking the money out of CIG; yes, that’s actually fraud.

HOWEVER, if CIG wanted to do the right thing, they would dispute the chargeback from the bank and they’d have to prove that the digital asset in question was in fact gifted to someone else. I suspect that they simply have no way of proving this. Hence the reason that they’re after this person (who now owns the item) in order to claim that loss.

Also, if this was in the EU, they’d have a problem because the EU courts have ruled that people must be allowed to sell digital goods.

This is also similar to eBay/PayPal scams; which is why buying/selling with verified accounts offers the most protection.

The real crime here is that CIG is bothering to go after someone for this small (all things considered) amount of money. They must be desperate.

                Goon leak says,

A good man from CIG UK is quitting and off back to the Fatherland.
Its not a firing and he is leaving on good terms. A familiar face to anyone that’s been following the B4TBG email drama ..

And an Australian goon got his $80 refund. Image here. Consumer protection laws there forbid time limits on refunds.

Extra fun info. Sandi is from Adelaide, Australia, so shouldn’t she know about that refund stuff? Maybe, the exemption was made because she remembered her home turf. “I am one of the best saleswomen in the world without a shadow of a doubt and always have been since I was a very small girl.” – Dec 18, 2015

My guessing summary is… Sandi is a wealthy nutcase, Patrick is leaving, a large group of the UK CS team is leaving with him, CIG is expecting an Australian refund spree. CIG is desperate for cash, but since Chris and Sandi are not mentally normal… can they feel normal desperation?

                We require more vespene tears.

This update comes in later after inspiration, looking and typing. A lot of it is done from memory.

I am in the zone, playing Halo’s Reclaimer music right now. Careful with the volume and enjoy reading the next parts with music. It’s motivating and fun.

I would like to mention that the reddit post itself is 4-5 pages down. So, it won’t get much notice at all.

Here is a story about the Grey Market, featuring Kane. It was published after announcing LTI returned. Coincidence? Say hello to the true vanguard of LTI, the Reclaimer.

The LTI fraud is one thing, but it impacted refunds. Say “Late Backer (LB)” wants a hornet package with LTI, he had to get a “Nice” original or veteran backer (NB) to flip. LB buys $140 hornet package (gift cards did not exist yet), gifts it to NB, and the NB melts it and uses the credit to buy the $140 Hornet LTI package, then gifts it back to LB. And hello, $125 LTI hornet. I did not forget you.

Years later, if the LB or NB ask for a refund, regardless if they specified the full refund amount, CIG would attempt to not count the flip as part of any refund, because it was gifted. This is why some accepted partial refunds. A tough hurdle to clear unless you are persistent, or carry an advantage.

The best advantages for full refunds went to original and veteran backers that never gifted anything, and other later backers that only had 1 item. Fail to deliver. No product. KS page. TOS. Recent purchase. Chargeback ammo.

Forced to rush 30 GB releases on the PTU from Nov 24, in the middle, Dec 11, we made them suffer.

The flood of refunds hammered CIG. They could’ve made it easy. Or we will make it legendary. And we did.

There is no great journey. No salvation. Only vindication.

                    @ B B

Feel free to repost elsewhere. I like information freedom and sharing. I think the goons are already talking about it. They move a lot faster than I do. They live on the internet all day compared to me.
