Just to remind you, fact checking is very painful. I asked for help in the end.

      1. Watch from 2:24-2:32, published on Dec 19, 2014: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJJ9TcGxhNY
      2. Watch 0:22-0:32, published Nov 5, 2015: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-600jdROewQ
      3. Read some comments here: https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/3ro59m/atv2_05_sneakpeek_retailator_escape_pod_recovery/
Comments by Broken_Blade, Enoril, and therealdiscolando about retaliator escape pod.

“This was an old previs/lookdev created in December 2014. Parts of it were used in the CIG version of the Imagine trailer. We just thought you’d like to see the full, uncut version. =)
Remember, as this is previs/lookdev, it’s an exploration of ideas and concepts, and is in no way guaranteed to be representative of what you’d see in the finished game.”

Derek’s repost of this image is accurate: http://i.imgur.com/WiYasSG.jpg

Jared is a CIG employee and had to make an excuse. Notice the 73 upvotes. Also someone’s post got deleted.
So many people accept anything CIG says. I sure don’t.

Donald Trump has far more wealth than Chris Roberts does. Trump could finance all of Star Citizen, if he wanted. Chris had to ask for crowdfunding to convince outside investors in the beginning. Not a good comparison at all, even if they run a company. Chris did run 2 of his into the ground though.

Jared or DiscoLando has already been caught lying. They tried to use an Avenger rescuing an escape pod as new footage, when in fact it was a year old. I do not know where it is on reddit now. Derek posted it too: http://i.imgur.com/WiYasSG.jpg

Jared may have started as a SC fan, but he can no longer be trusted to give out true information.

I disagree with Derek that CIG will fail within 90 days or Jan 2016. Chris will get desperate and layoff more people quietly, offer more ship sales… as long as they get $2-3 million a month, they can delay failure up till spring 2016 easily.

Knowing Chris from his Freelancer days, he will maintain an image of success until he is either bailed out, or collapses. Since there is no Microsoft, it’s just a collapse waiting.

I find your desire for an “actual smoking gun” and hard facts to be a bit too… lenient. You really want to enjoy the show until it’s too late to salvage the project, or get a refund. Then again, you have far less to lose.

On the bright side, you are much nicer than the others that called me a “deserter” or “sockpuppet.” Thanks for being friendly even in disagreement.

          @ Kristoffer S

Relating to ex-Blizzards at CIG, the only facts I have to share are…

“[Executive producer] Alex [Mayberry] left Cloud Imperium Games last month for personal reasons”.

“Mayberry came to Cloud Imperium after spending nearly 10 years working at World of Warcraft publisher Blizzard Entertainment. He was the lead producer on action role-playing game Diablo III. Prior to that, he worked on World of Warcraft expansions Wrath of the Lich King and The Burning Crusade.”

          July 6, 2015: http://venturebeat.com/2015/07/06/star-citizen-loses-its-executive-producer-founder-chris-roberts-brother-takes-over-role/

The rest is only speculation. But why would a 10 year vet from Blizzard leave? I think the reason is obvious. The way Chris Roberts attacked Derek shows just how much of an egotistical bully he actually is. Chris also attacked Lizzy pretty harshly too. The attacks are a fact. If Alex was attacked by Chris, it would be no surprise he’d leave mostly unannounced.

Fact is, Chris is an egotistical, arrogant, bully who is the CEO of CIG. They have missed nearly every date given. They have censored the official forums. CIG employees are fired, quitting or restructured. Arena Commander is a buggy mess. Chris refuses to give out any dates.

I am not waiting till CIG fails, to say the obvious fact: CIG under Chris’ leadership is screwed.

Another fact: Derek’s lawyers have torn up his blogs and have held back other information that will give the lawsuit a higher chance of winning. I can speculate based on the hints Derek has left, his lawyers have an amazing way of approaching this, and they have given CIG many chances to do the right thing. Good lawyers cost a chunk per hour, and it can be seen in their writing and handling of info or their client.

I can safely speculate: Chris, Sandi, and Ortwin… are in deep trouble.

Thanks for the reply and hope.
Unfortunately, I am not the only large pledger that is being ignored. I have been talking with other high and grand admirals that have been ignored.

While there are other difficult options to go with, depending on how we want to get our money back, they also have risks.
The only sure thing is that CIG is only refunding $45-500 pledgers easily. Any higher is case by case.

Some of us will go down with the ship if other options don’t work out.
We will join Derek’s lawsuit when it becomes available.

Well, we knew it was coming. It’s sad that CIG is in such a bad state due to Chris. But that’s just not the end. It looks like I will be one of the many that will have their refunds totally ignored, and will be another unwilling victim. Man… even if I can afford to lose my $2,500, to be in the same financial camp as those white knights boils my blood a bit.

I’m starting to become mean spirited enough that I’d wish bad things on them.

I wonder where Erin is, in all this mess.

                @ Michael Mikoriad

For me, the push to expose anything, even if other backers don’t care or want refunds, is based on accountability. Luckily for me, my other crowdfunded projects succeeded. However, there are other projects that failed from mismanagement or embezzled funds. It’s one thing for Chris to be a pathetic manager, and repeating his mistakes. It is another if he is using money intended for SC, then spends it for other stuff that only Derek knows thanks to his insider sources. Several major hints have been dropped from Escapist too. The way Escapist responded to Ortwin is a clear sign.

If Chris and Sandi lie about minor details… It wouldn’t be a surprise that they lie about larger details too. It’s true that their residence change and degrees are extremely minor. It’s also true that they have never publicly disclosed any finances, never held to any dates, and thus never will be held accountable. At the minimum, Chris can continue mismanaging money, and no one can stop him because he is the CEO. That is why other high level employees from reputable companies left SC, which is a universal warning sign.

                  @ meat

1 year of work before the kickstarter, 3 years after, so a total of 4 years. The main point is that 1 year of early work has been thrown out.

Arena Commander was released in June 2014. It was delayed by 1 year in order to write new netcode, and not use the stock CryEngine code. The new netcode is problematic, fails to do anything better. AC has always been hellishly buggy in online play. The AI for solo or coop is glitchy and bugged out. The tech foundation to run AC is still not in place after 3 years. Money has been poorly spent, based on results of AC. Generally, the core gameplay and technology, which consists of AC, should be close to nailed down, so that everything else follows on polishing.

Switching to 64 bit CryEngine should have been done earlier, but it is true that CIG needs to hire people for that ordeal. One of the needed, but poorly planned changes which affects everything else.

What we have now is an incomplete and still changing flight model. Chris Roberts doesn’t have any idea on a finalized flight model, and the features that it should support, which leads to more AC scope creep. I’m not gonna get into the whole realistic physics with fictional spaceship design that has destroyed the Cutlass. The point is, the core gameplay, the space flight, is still going through massive and fundamental changes this late into the project, which affects everything else.

In the middle of all this, they changed the sound middleware system from FMOD to Wwise. It may lead to better sound effects later on, but doing it this late, having to refactor and reengineer audio from the previously working format, is extremely costly. They still cannot get Wwise working properly, and it even affects playing music in the launcher for starting or installing SC.

I will leave the whole staged demo thing to others.

3 years of mismanaged time. 3 years of engine technology scope creep. 1-2 years of Illfonic Star Marine work thrown out due to not being 64 bit mergable. Star Citizen can be salvaged, but only if Chris Roberts stops with the expensive changing of decisions in the middle. Constant reiteration costs time and money. Even if customers can wait a decade, money is always an issue. Unfortunately, Chris is displaying his unpleasant habits, which leaves little hope to those that know his history.

                    @ Michael Mikoriad

It’s ironic how Derek never asked for a $250 refund, yet got one, because of his blog. I ask for my $2,500 through concierge and get ignored past the second confirmation.

Egos are not being put aside to create the greatest game ever. Chris insists on having track balls on the Saitek HOTAS. Track balls are dirt terrible for aiming, and are even worse to use on a joystick as you move it around. Chris and Ben indirectly insult everyone that do not enjoy the “interactive mode” for mouse flying, and dump all outbursts and constructive criticism in the Katamari Damashii Controller vs Controller.

Derek has paid others to search through CA public records to determine what Chris and Sandi have done. Their change of residence and the inability to locate Sandi’s UCLA degrees are suspicious.

Chris has a history of epic failures. The Wing Commander film… Freelancer was bailed out by Microsoft, at the cost of Chris’ Digital Anvil company. His film studio Ascendant Pictures gets sued by Kevin Costner for breaking contract and $8 million. The film company is sold to Bigfoot…

Chris Roberts is repeating his failures and cannot be trusted. He knows how to put up a friendly face in public and with fans, but once he goes back to the office… we eventually get to read his amazing public rants that take 8 hours to write. Blame it all on Derek Smart cuz he da internet warlord.

Ego, arrogance, lies. It’s all catching up. This time, there ain’t no publisher to bail out the game.
