I would imagine that from Robbers prospective... Why sell shares to the lemmings when they hand me millions for virtual space ships or imaginary land grants?
One is a single sided transaction that grants nothing , the other creats legal rights, obligations and reporting.

For a clown who has been lying for years to now publicly declare that they have been running in the red is bad for buisness, or donations.

It's too risky for them. As you said, they get free money (which still isn't enough) with zero strings or legal consequences.
Star Citizen isn't a game. It's a TV show about a bunch of characters making a game. It's basically "This is Spinal Tap" - except people think the band is real.

Makes sense and good summaries. CR and CIG have shown their true intentions already for a long time such as changing the ToS to deny refunds. Far away from a "shared vision" when compared to Frontier and even HG where they've done long term free big updates.
